Six cities in the country have been selected for an experimental plan. Under this scheme, using a new technique will make a low cost, more sustainable and disaster-less 1000 house. A senior official of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs gave this information.
Duga Shankar Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Construction Technology India-2007, during the exhibition-cum-convention, told the correspondents that the technical evaluation committee has evaluated 54 institutions providing 32 new technologies and techniques of 25 countries.
He has said that "Six cities are decided to use the light-weight building project (Lighthouse project). The city includes - Rajkot (Gujarat), Ranchi (Jharkhand), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Agartala (Tripura) and Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh). "Mishra said that this technology will be implemented in other states and Union Territories except these six states.
